It was lovely to welcome many of our type 1 and type 3 families to our annual Family Fun Day. This year we visited West Midlands Safari Park and a great day was had by all. It was touch and go a couple of days before we went as Storm Amy hit the UK bringing strong winds and a lot of rain. Luckily by Sunday 5th October the storm had passed and a pleasant October day awaited us.
The day began with a private Jeep safari around the park and we saw lions, elephants, giraffes and many more. Unfortunately the tigers did not come out to play! But it was great to get up and close to the animals and see how well looked after they are. After a short walk through the dinosaur enclosure we had a lovely lunch altogether and caught up with friends old and new.
Once lunch was over it was time to hit the theme park and wonder along the various animal trails as well as see the shows. The day also marked International Gaucher Day and it was good to all be together for this. A big thank you to all who joined us on the day and we look forward to our next Family day out in 2026.
